Boys basketball: Emerald Ridge 63, Union 59

The turnover bug came back to bite Union as their season came to an end on Tuesday night.

They had 18 turnovers on the night, including one with 20 seconds remiaining when they were down by three points with a chance to tie the game.

Riley Hawken led Union with 14 points while Isaiah Robertson grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with eight points.

Union focused defensively on Emerald Ridge’s Marcus Harris who came in to the came averaging 23 points a game and they held him to only nine.

Raeshon Scales stepped up for Emerald Ridge, scoring 17 points including a go-ahead three-pointer with under two minutes left after Union had tied the game.

Emerald Ridge also attacked the basket effectively, ending up with 17 more free-throw attempts than Union in a game that was close all night.
