BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Brittany Boyd scored 25 points, seven in the final six minutes as No. 23 California held off Oregon State, 72-63, in the Pac 12 opener for both schools Friday night.

Boyd, an All-Pac 12 player a year ago, converted a three-point play with 5:42 left to lift the Golden Bears into a tie at 48, then converted a pair of layups as part of a 11-1 run that put Cal in control of the game. Cal converted 9 of 11 from the line to secure the victory.

Boyd was 9 of 16 from the field, 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and had seven steals to lead Cal (9-3). Reshanda Gray and Afure Jemerigbe added 14 and 12 points, respectively, and Courtney Range added 10 more off the bench.

Jamie Weisner scored 14 of her 22 points in the first half to lead Oregon State (8-5).
