B.J. Askew charged with failing to support kids

DETROIT (AP) — Former NFL fullback B.J. Askew has been charged in Michigan with failing to pay about $268,000 in child support.

The Michigan attorney general’s office says Askew was arrested in Hillsborough County, Fla., on Jan. 7. He’ll be extradited to Detroit to face the charge.

The 33-year-old Askew played college football at Michigan and was drafted by the New York Jets in 2003.
