A Level III sex offender recently registered as a transient in Clark County, according to the sheriff’s office. Level III offenders are considered the group most likely to commit new sex crimes.

Gregory Antonio Wright, 33, is a black man, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 190 pounds and black hair. He is not wanted by police at this time.

In 1998, Wright forcibly sexually assaulted two girls. Wright threatened a 13-year-old with a knife before the assault and Wright threatened and choked a 14-year-old during a second assault, according to the sheriff’s office. He pleaded guilty to second-degree assault with sexual motivation and fourth-degree assault.

In 2000, Wright was charged with a probation violation for having sexual contact with another 14-year-old girl.

In 2006, Wright pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted communication with a minor for immoral purposes for becoming sexually involved with a 15-year-old girl.

Wright will be monitored by the Department of Corrections, the Vancouver Police Sex Offender Tracking Unit and the Clark County Sex Offender Registration Unit.
