I have to chuckle at this ongoing debate about shipping coal and oil across the country. Only a very few seem to see the real problem, which is carbon dioxide. It is the silent killer.
Neither coal nor oil should be shipped anywhere. All humans — and most living things — rely on the same oxygen supply, so as we either use up or destroy our oxygen supply, the sooner we will have to come up with devices to carry on our backs to supply this much-needed fuel source.
Also don’t forget all the animals, bugs, bacteria, plants, etc., that are also competing for this same source of fuel. Who will be building miniature oxygen supply tanks for all that essential part of nature?
It is immoral for anyone to ship coal or oil anywhere if it is to be used as a fuel source without contributing an equal or greater amount of effort to the eventual replacement of these two sources of the silent killer. We, the people, would be better off to pay workers to just stay at home when it comes to these new jobs, because the jobs they are really creating are those related to a massive worldwide health care crisis.
