WALLA WALLA — A human jawbone was discovered in a storage unit in Walla Walla last week when employees cleaned it out after a former renter fell behind in payments.

Police Officer Tim Bennett told the Union-Bulletin the jawbone is missing several teeth and had holes bored in it, possibly indicating it had been used in research.

Police are tracking down the storage unit renter for an explanation.
