The Vancouver Police Department conducted a warrant search of a massage business Tuesday afternoon in downtown Vancouver.

Investigators were looking into forgery allegations related to the licensing documents of the massage therapists who work at 218 W. 13th St., according to Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp. No arrests were made.

People who walked by the business had also complained about possible illegal activity and said they didn’t believe the massage therapists were properly licensed, Kapp said.

Police said the name of the business is Nancy’s Studio. That name is not on the building, which bears signs advertising massage and spa services. According to Columbian archives, Nancy’s Studio was issued a license by the city for beauty services and back and foot massage in December.

A sign on the business’s mailbox said that the business was seeking licensed massage therapists.

Previously, in June 2012, the address was licensed for a business called Foot Massage, which listed services including reflexology and foot massage.

A business at that address appears on a sexually oriented website that contains client reviews detailing sexual services allegedly provided for “tips.”
