Investigators still don’t know how a missing Battle Ground woman wound up deceased in a shed near Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.

An autopsy was performed Sunday, said Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Kevin Allais, a member of the Regional Major Crimes Unit investigating Beverly Goheen’s death.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office said Goheen’s death certificate is pending, and that her cause of death is not obvious. The agency also is waiting for toxicology results.

So far, foul play is not suspected, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The 33-year-old disappeared from the hospital early in the morning of April 29, according to the sheriff’s office. Friends and family launched a search campaign, and on Saturday organized a group to look around the medical center. They discovered her body early that afternoon and called 911, according to the sheriff’s office.

The shed where she was found, behind a house at the corner of Northeast 138th Street and 20th Avenue, is owned by Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, said hospital spokesman Brian Willoughby. He said the medical center is cooperating with investigators.

Goheen’s friends and family are holding a candlelight vigil 7 p.m. Friday at 2007 N.E. 138th St., near the outbuilding where Goheen was found.
