The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is hosting a free screening of an award-winning documentary that examines the stigma of addiction.

The screening and public discussion of the film “The Anonymous People” begins at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at Greater Portland Bible Church, 2374 S.W. Vermont St. in Portland. The event’s social hour begins at 6 p.m.

Seating is limited. Reservations can be made online, www.hazelden.org/web/public/event.view?eventId=4652892.

The documentary tells the story of the more than 23 million Americans living in long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. It features people in recovery who are fighting against the stigma of addiction that has kept them silent for decades, according to an event news release.

The event is hosted by the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s Center for Public Advocacy and Hazelden at Springbrook’s Alumni Chapter.
