Letter: Maneuver seems vindictive

The Columbian
Published: November 19, 2014, 12:00am

The request by the Clark County Republican Central Committee to investigate Greg Kimsey appears to be a vindictive activity against an elected county official for not licking the committee’s boots regarding the recently passed county charter. Kimsey is an intelligent man whose focus has been on serving our community by performing an outstanding job as county auditor. His leadership should be an example to follow by the committee instead of undertaking this pettiness.

As a retired professional engineer and director of corporate projects for a multistate corporation, I, like the majority of the recent voters, am a “reasonable” man, which is quite contrary to the committee’s comments about the two pages of information in the Voters’ Pamphlet. They contend that “any reasonable person who opposes the proposition would find these pages to be carefully crafted to put the proposition in the most favorable light possible.”

This action by the committee is a witch hunt and leads me to drop my 52-year Republican registration for such ineptness.
