Clark County — Instead of asking residents for candy on Halloween, American Red Cross Youth Club volunteers asked them for donations to help disaster relief efforts. More than 160 high-schoolers from the county took part in Red Cross’ “Trick-or-Treat for Disaster” fundraiser on Oct. 31 with support from Red Cross members and adult advisers. This year the volunteers collected about $5,200 for Red Cross disaster services. “This was our best year to date, in terms of high school youth participation and total funds collected,” Red Cross Youth Advisor Trish Osilla said in a press release.
