Rylee Seekins of Hockinson girls soccer was voted The Columbian’s high school fall sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 27.

Seekins collected 32 percent of the 1,663 votes cast by fans to beat out Savanna Craig of Mountain View cross country, who had 24 percent.

Seekins had six goals and eight assists in three wins for the Hawks last week.

The other nominees were Brian Humphreys of Camas golf, Kara Noftsker of Columbia River swimming and Dalaney Tuholski of Heritage volleyball.

Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Athletes may be elected player of the week once during the regular season, and no athlete can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
