Letter: Selling of America in full swing

The Sept. 28 letter “Limits on speech never acceptable” by Rick Hauser notes the Citizens United decision left in place a ban on corporate contributions to political candidates. True, so they use an intermediary, an advocacy corporation. Big difference.

This Supreme Court decision immediately resulted in a flood of money to politicians from corporations. The Constitution begins with “We the People,” not we the corporation. Corporations are legal entities, and their owners (shareholders, real people) are separate from them, legally. No “person” was ever banned from speaking.

The Supreme Court just sold America to special interests.
