• Suzanne Washington will begin her duties in November as the new executive director of Meals on Wheels. Joan Smith, the current executive director, will retire at the end of the year. Washington currently serves as deputy director at Impact NW, a position she has held since 2003. She has a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Oregon and a master’s degree in psychology from United States International University.

• Jon Yamashita has been promoted to survey manager at Otak, Inc. Yamashita, who has worked in the land-surveying field for more than 20 years, joined Otak six months ago. He earned a degree in geography from Portland State University. He will share his time between Portland and Vancouver offices.
