Northwest — For three decades, Jim Mains has been decorating his property for Halloween, often with elaborate effects. This year, he is continuing his tradition with a family-=friendly display at his home at 4616 N.W. Franklin St. The display features the usual smattering of creepy decorations, including a witches cauldron, strobe lights, gravestones and cobwebs. On Halloween, Mains said the display will come to life with actors in costumes including the “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” witch, Jack Skellington from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and other creepy creatures. The display will be active from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday.
