Evergreen Public Schools is looking for volunteers to prepare and present monthly theme-based art lessons to students in kindergarten through fifth grade, and then assist the students as they complete a related hands-on art project. Supplies are provided.

Volunteer Center seeks weekly and substitute information desk volunteers at the Clark County Court House and Public Service Center.

Battle Ground Health Care seeks volunteers to help protect the security of medical records, code patient data and process business and government forms.

Clark County Juvenile Court is looking for mentors to assist youth, ages 10 to 18, in completing their obligations to make things right in the community. Mentors help the youth to stay on task and to understand the value of their work.

Council for the Homeless seeks volunteers to help clients connect to community resources. Volunteers with a background in social work are also needed to assess clients to determine eligibility.

Open House Ministries is looking for a computer technician to help people at the shelter do basic word processing, use the Internet and email.

• The city of Vancouver seeks to fill an opening on the Clark County Arts Commission. Applicants for the position must live within the city limits and represent one of the following art disciplines: architecture, dance, digital, heritage or cultural, literary, music, theater or visual arts. The term begins immediately and expires in 2018. The commission meets from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month.

• The Washington State Department of Transportation and the Cascade Bicycle Club are seeking volunteers and organizations to count bicyclists and walkers on paths, bike lanes and sidewalks Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

Volunteers are needed across the state to count the number of people who walk or bike to destinations. The information is used to measure the results of bike and sidewalk investments and plan for future projects.
