Workshop will focus on successful campaigning

The Clark County Auditor’s Office is sponsoring a campaign workshop, “Winning Ways to Run for Office.”

The free class will be held Thursday, April 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Clark County Elections Office, 1408 Franklin, Vancouver.

Vancouver City Councilwoman Alishia Topper and Battle Ground City Councilman Lyle Lamb will speak about making the decision to run and then campaigning for an office. Jim Mains and Temple Lentz of High Five Media, a local campaign and marketing consulting firm, will describe what it takes to carry out an effective campaign for a candidate or issue in Clark County.

Speakers will also offer helpful advice regarding political sign regulations, campaign finance, and resources available at the elections office.

According to a press release, the workshop will be helpful for current candidates for public office and for people considering becoming candidates, for those who are working on a campaign for an issue or candidate, or who think they might in the future, as well as anyone who is interested in the topics.

Time will be available for questions and answers during the program, and after during an informal reception.
