Construction work will close the sidewalk on the southbound side of the Interstate 5 Bridge today and Monday, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The sidewalk will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, according to ODOT. The closures will make way for equipment needed for work on a new traffic gate used to close the three southbound lanes during a bridge lift.
The sidewalk on the northbound span of the bridge will remain open to pedestrians and bicycles during the closure. The work will have no impact on the traffic lanes of I-5 in either direction, according to ODOT.
