The Portland Thorns will pay tribute to a pair of retiring players on Sunday when they host the Washington Spirit at 6:30 p.m., their final home match of 2015 for the National Women’s Soccer League club.

Defender Rachel Van Hollebeke and goalkeeper Nadine Angerer are retiring at the conclusion of the season and will be recognized prior to the match, which will be played in front of a sold-out Providence Park.

The Thorns (6-8-4, 22 points) have been eliminated from playoff contention.

Washington (8-5-5, 29 points) locked up the last playoff spot with a scoreless draw at FC Kansas City on Thursday.

Forward Alex Morgan is expected to make only her third appearance of the season for the Thorns as a result of injuries and the Women’s World Cup.
