Esther Short — Salon Moxie owners Gina McCoy and Celinda Rupert have long donated to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, and last year started a fundraiser out of their downtown Vancouver salon where pet owners could have photos of their animals taken in front of a festive background.

The first year, the fundraiser brought in $300, and at the second annual event on Dec. 4, the salon raised $500 for the society.

This year, they had 19 dogs and one cat show up for the fundraiser. Each animal was photographed by Beth Jones of Salon Moxie, and each picture was printed out, framed and sent home with the pet owner.
