During the recent heavy rains, flow into Swift Reservoir has been as high as 58,000 cubic feet per second and reached 90,000 cubic feet per second into Merwin Reservoir. PacifiCorp has raised and lowered water levels as much as 30 feet in the past two weeks in Swift Reservoir, and by 10 to 15 feet in Yale and Merwin reservoirs to even out the flow of the river and avoid flooding downstream of Merwin Dam. Spilling at Swift Dam has ended. Streamflow in the North Fork of the Lewis River is dropping due to drier weather and colder temperatures.
