A Vancouver resident was arrested Christmas Day after law enforcement in Oregon performed a high-risk traffic stop.

Deputies with the Hood River County (Ore.) Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in Cascade Locks, Ore., and learned that the license plates on the vehicle, a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup, were stolen, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies performed a high-risk traffic stop and arrested Fanesha Leaprea Montgomery, 25, of Vancouver and Caleb Mayne Maxwell, 25, of Portland. They both face charges of two counts of second-degree burglary, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, first- and second-degree theft, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of burglary tools.

The pickup had been stolen in Gresham, Ore., the week prior, and inside the vehicle, deputies found stolen property from two burglaries reported in the Hood River and Cascade Locks areas, the sheriff’s office said.
