Letter: Unite and give thanks to law officers

Is it not sad, that some ethnic groups do not understand the difference between rhetorical and political comments by self-serving, so-called ministers and other politicians and their racially promoted rhetoric? Two New York City police officers, while sitting in their car, were killed by a black man.

One officer was of Asian decent and the other Hispanic. Both were Americans. Now, did their communities start looting, burning and destroying innocent people’s property? Of course not. Why? It’s called decency and respect, not an excuse to promote damage to other people’s property.

Of course, here comes Al Sharpton, who made a marshmallow statement concerning this sad day. Of course, 73 percent of the voters elected the mayor of N.Y.C. So live with your vote.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our law enforcement officers with the Vancouver police, Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol.
