Letter: Injurious action done by board

The Columbian
Published: July 27, 2015, 5:00pm

On July 20, Brenda Gardner wrote a letter to the editor, “Administrators at the top overpaid,” that I strongly endorse.

As our legislators struggle to find funds to meet the court’s mandate for funding education, I find the $6,000 plus the cost-of-living salary increase for Vancouver Public Schools Superintendent Steve Webb comes at a most inopportune time. His salary should not be higher than other superintendents doing a similar job in the area, and he should not be making more than the governor of Washington.

I may have to reconsider my support for school levies if the school board gives this kind of priority to our educational funds.
