Letter: United we can solve bigger issues

Have you ever been out in the country and tried to catch the bus? Unfortunately, city and county transportation has started to become a larger problem. Years ago, when a metropolitan transportation plan was developing, fewer than 500 citizens actively participated in voicing their opinions — we need more community members to become involved. Today, there are many causes for the public transportation problems: Fare increases, traffic revisions, and alternations of routes. Citizens are unable to rely on public transportation. This causes larger problems for our community dependability as we currently do not have enough resources or votes in favor of solving this issue.

Many possible solutions have come about, but we still do not have a final answer.

One of these resolutions includes our county community and the city of Vancouver coming together to create a strong call of action while keeping our community stronger, as this would help all families, both financially and economically. While these solutions could easily become effective, the most important step for this to be successful ultimately begins with our community and each individual throughout Clark County.

Despite the obstacles, many believe doing small things makes a huge difference. As Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
