Stevenson-Carson names superintendent

STEVENSON — Karen Douglass, principal of Stevenson Elementary for the past decade, has been chosen by the school board as the new superintendent of Stevenson-Carson School District. Dan Read, current superintendent, will leave the district June 30.

Douglass, who has worked for the district for more than 25 years, will begin her new position July 1. She currently is the district’s federal programs supervisor, Title I LAP director, homeless liaison and professional development coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Warner Pacific College and a master’s degree from Portland State University.
