NORTH BONNEVILLE — Treaty tribal members have begun direct-to-public sales at several locations in the Columbia River Gorge, including one mile east of Bonneville Dam in Washington and Marine Park in Cascade Locks.

The public is advised to call the salmon marketing program at 888-289-1855 before heading up the Columbia to find out where the day’s catch is being sold. Fish will be available daily, according to the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission.

Tribal fishermen have allocations of 27,600 sockeye and 21,000 summer chinook for 2015.

Members of the public are urged to pack a cooler with ice to keep fish fresh. The price is determined at the point of sale and most sales are cash only. Sales generally run from 10 a.m. to dusk.
