A Vancouver man jumped off the Interstate 5 Bridge early Friday morning and has not been found.

At 12:51 a.m. Friday, multiple police agencies were sent to the bridge for a report of a man on the pedestrian walkway, threatening to jump. Police tried to talk to 18-year-old Trystan Gabriel Wilder, but he soon jumped, said Portland Police Bureau Sgt. Pete Simpson.

Portland Fire & Rescue and Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office boats searched the river for Wilder, but did not find him, Simpson said.

Wilder formerly attended Heritage High School and had a warehouse job, his stepmother, Cherrine Wilder, said. His memorial is scheduled for March 21.
