A man with a District Court warrant fled Tuesday from the Clark County Courthouse, leading police and passers-by on a chase.

Security Officer Nick Arata followed the man out of the west entry of the courthouse as he ran across the parking lot. Corrections Deputy Cindi Morrow then began chasing after the man identified as 42-year-old Salvator Corona.

A woman leaving the nearby Longshoremen union hall pointed in the direction she saw Corona run, Morrow said. Three Longshoremen got into a vehicle and drove down the street to block Corona from getting onto Mill Plain Boulevard. A woman on the second-story balcony of Share House shouted turn-by-turn instructions to Morrow as she ran. Corona eventually surrendered without incident near West 14th and Kauffman streets, Morrow said.

Corona was booked into jail on a warrant for alleged third-degree theft.
