Detectives arrested a man Friday on suspicion of first-degree assault for the attack that seriously injured a Vancouver man earlier this month.

Deputies responded to a call in the Maple Tree neighborhood of Orchards on Nov. 19 to find that Antone Rydberg, 56, had suffered a serious head wound, apparently after he’d been clubbed with a length of pipe, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation led detectives with the sheriff’s office major crimes team and Tactical Detective Unit led to Troy D. Meyers, 46.

Meyers was arrested Friday, and deputies also found methamphetamine on him during the arrest, according to the sheriff’s office.

Meyers was booked into the Clark County Jail pending charges for the assault and for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said Meyers was arrested in October 2014 on multiple counts of intimidating a witness, then was released on bail.

In November this year, he was again arrested on outstanding warrants for attempted aggravated homicide, according to the sheriff’s office. He was in court Nov. 10, and posted $150,000 bail.
