Two women were wounded by gunfire after a party among street gang members spiraled out of control at Jantzen Beach Saturday afternoon, according to Portland police.

Officers were summoned at 12:08 p.m. to the Red Lion Jantzen Beach Hotel, 909 N. Hayden Island Drive, after a report of a shooting with multiple victims.

Police arrived and found a large group of known gang members and associates at the hotel for a party. Two women were taken to a local hospital for treatment of wounds that did not appear to be life threatening.

Preliminary information indicates a gunman or gunmen arrived at the hotel and sprayed it with gunshots from outside the hotel before fleeing. The crime scene includes five different rooms, according to a police news release.

No arrests have been reported.

Anyone with non-emergency information about this shooting, including social media, is asked to call the Police Non-Emergency Line at 503-823-3333.
