Zach Neketuk of Washougal was voted The Columbian’s high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 10.

Neketuk collected 42 percent of the 4,557 votes cast by fans to beat out Colin Biggs of Mountain View, who had 40 percent.

Neketuk rushed for 225 yards on 32 carries and two fourth-quarter TDs in a win over Hudson’s Bay.

The other nominees were Cooper McNatt of Camas, Garrett McKee of Columbia River and Matt Garrison of King’s Way Christian.

Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Sunday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Players may be elected player of the week once per month, and no player can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
