The Oct. 6 story reported “Clark County to keep pursuing tax cut.” A 2 percent reduction in property taxes may seem insignificant to some in county government, averaging $7.33 annually or “two lattes” per homeowner, but think of it times how many property owners? 30,000? Times by $7.33 equals $219,900 left where residents can spend or save it where they think it will do the most good. Why is $7.33 insignificant in our pockets but too significant for government to let it stay with us?
