Washington state Initiative 1401, concerning trafficking of animal species threatened with extinction, is going to make felons out of a lot of innocent people. If you own a piece of ivory (earrings, necklace, etc.) that was legally purchased 50, 60 or 70 years ago and you give that to a daughter or granddaughter you may have committed a felony under I-1401.
I-1401 allows an exception for items that are antique (at least 100 years old) but not for items more recent in age. Do not approve I-1401.
