An Oregon woman was taken to a hospital Saturday night after the car she was driving struck a concrete barrier on a highway in east Vancouver, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Joy C. Jackson, 39, of Milwaukie, Ore., was taking the exit from northbound Interstate 205 to westbound state Highway 500 when she swerved to avoid a vehicle traveling from Highway 500 onto I-205, the state patrol said in a press memo. The interchange weaves traffic leaving northbound I-205 for Highway 500 with traffic leaving Highway 500 for northbound I-205.
After Jackson swerved, her red 2001 Volkswagen Jetta struck a concrete barrier shortly after 11 p.m., troopers said.
Jackson was transported to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, the memo said. Her condition was not available Sunday.
The cause of the crash was driver inattention, the state patrol said. Any charges in the case are pending, according to the memo.
