WASHOUGAL — The Washougal School District is crowdsourcing its new elementary school’s name.

District residents are being asked to submit ideas for the school’s name. It must be the name of a prominent person in education, arts and sciences, politics or military; a past president or U.S. senator or representative from Washington; or a piece of notable geography in the area.

Name nominations can be made at www.washougal.k12.wa.us/wordpress or at the district office, 4855 Evergreen Way. Ideas can be submitted through Jan. 20; the school board will make a decision on April 26.

Construction on the school is set to start next summer.
