Letter: True governing lost on local GOP

The Columbian
Published: September 8, 2015, 6:00am

It seems to me that some of the so-called leaders (and too many of their followers) in the local Clark County GOP have no real understanding or concept of what true governing actually means. This has been well-demonstrated, quite frankly, by their self-serving and blatantly partisan politics over the last several years and, certainly, in recent weeks. It is my belief that if the local GOP has any hope to survive — and actually become relevant once again when it comes to the delivery of good governance in Clark County — its current radical my-way-or-the-highway leadership style (along with its divisive agendas and vitriolic rhetoric) needs to change.

This change can only occur if enough reasonably sane, realistically thinking and sensible members of the local GOP (and any others bothered by the local GOP’s brand of politics) stand up and very loudly and forcefully proclaim “enough is enough.” It is my hope they will choose to do so very soon.
