The Downtown Camas Association will hold a spring cleanup and planting event, in honor of Earth Day, from 1 to 4 p.m. April 24 in downtown Camas.

All ages are welcome and encouraged to join the annual event.

Association members, city staff, students and other community volunteers will help clean sidewalks and landscape beds, weed, plant flowers and plants, and spread bark dust.

Volunteers should meet at Journey Community Church, 304 N.E. Fourth Ave., in Camas, at 1 p.m. Bring shovels, spades, buckets, wheelbarrows and garden gloves. Wheelbarrows are especially needed. Garbage bags and rubber gloves will be provided for litter pickup.

Journey Church will serve lunch to volunteers.

Anyone interested in volunteering, including youth organizations, can contact Kitty Hibbs or Jan Carter at events@downtowncamas.com.
