Vancouver Community Concert Band seeks singers ages 17 and older for solos and small ensemble singing, and to lead audience sing-alongs. Experience a plus. The volunteer community band performs regularly around the area, along with its polka band, Dixieland Jazz Band and chamber ensembles. There are openings for musicians for all concert instruments. Art

Clark County Open Studios Tour seeks artists living and working in Clark County for the November self-guided studio tour. The juried process will select artists for the tour and preview show at the Esther Short Building. Application deadline is May 31, with a $25 application fee. ccopenstudios.org

The 2016 Congressional Art Competition is open to submissions from high school students in the ninth through 12th grades, who reside or attend school in Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Skamania and Klickitat couties. Hosted by Rep. Jamie Herrera Beutler, the winner will have their artwork displayed at the U.S. Capitol Building, and get airfare to attend the unveiling. Society of Washington Artists seeks submissions for its annual Spring Show and Sale on May 13-15. Artists ages 18 and older can submit up to three pieces of original artwork in any medium and discipline. Artwork can be submitted between 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 11 at the Harley H Hall Building, 10000 N.E. Seventh Ave., Vancouver. Washougal Art Festival is seeking visual artists in all media to submit juried applications to be part of the Aug. 13 festival in downtown Washougal. Chosen artists will receive a 10-foot by 10- foot space. Applications must be submitted by April 1, through email.
