A new batch of election results released Friday afternoon showed small changes in several races, but no reversals from Tuesday night’s first returns.

In the 17th District Senate race, Republican state Rep. Lynda Wilson, R-Vancouver, now leads Democratic challenger Tim Probst by 28 votes after gaining the lead on Thursday. Probst, a former state representative, had led by 46 votes on Tuesday night. Both will advance to the November general election, where one of them will win the seat being vacated by Sen. Don Benton, R-Vancouver.

In a race for an open House seat in the 49th District, Democrat Monica Stonier now has 37.0 percent of the vote, compared with Democrat Alishia Topper’s 27.9 percent. Two Republican contenders have been eliminated from the race under the state’s top-two primary system.

In another closely watched race, Clark County Councilor David Madore polled 24.3 percent of the vote, slightly more than the 22.6 percent he received in the first tally, but has still been eliminated. Democrat Tanisha Harris, with 45.3 percent of the vote, and Republican John Blom, 30.3 percent, are moving on to the November general election.

Total turnout now stands at 78,847 of 260,803 registered voters, or 30.23 percent. A handful of additional votes will likely be counted in the coming days; the election is due to be certified on Aug. 16.
