Letter: Rabbits deserve better at Fair

By June Yamrick, VANCOUVER

I am outraged at the lack of care the rabbits receive at the Clark County Fair. This is not teaching children humane treatment of animals.

To have bunnies sitting on wire causes sore hocks, similar to open sores on human’s feet. The cages are too small for the rabbit to turn around in and the heat is oppressive. Rabbits are not comfortable in heat and can die when it reaches over 82 degrees.

This is not the way to treat any animal. For 25 years I have cared for rabbits and am finding this is a disgrace to the fair.
