PORTLAND – TriMet’s Rose Quarter repair project got off to a rocky start Sunday morning when work crews severed a power line in the Lloyd Center area.
The mishap cut power to a substation in the Lloyd Center area, preventing trains from turning back east. Shuttle buses, already ferrying passengers between the Rose Quarter and the Lloyd Center, were extended east to Gateway for about an hour.
The first weekday commute on Monday, meanwhile, brought the crowded, delayed trains TriMet had warned.
TriMet is asking riders to find another way to commute, or to plan an extra 30-45 minutes if using MAX.
