The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.

In August, the Dental Commission charged dentist Liem Duy Do, who holds a dentist moderate sedation with parenteral agents permit, with unprofessional conduct. Do allegedly had a patient sign an informed consent form while the patient was sedated and unable to provide informed consent.

In September, the Nursing Assistant Program charged registered nursing assistant Jennifer Lynn Canaan with unprofessional conduct. Canaan’s chemical dependency professional trainee and chemical dependency professional credential were placed on probation in connection with inadequately assessing a client.

In October, the secretary of health conditionally granted a certified medical assistant credential to Jami Rae Sanchez, who must continue to comply with a substance abuse monitoring contract that she agreed to in 2012 as part of a stipulation on her certified nursing assistant credential.
