Excessive speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in a fatal rollover vehicle crash Saturday evening north of Camas, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported at 8:08 p.m. in the 3400 block of Northeast Cavitt Road, north of Fern Prairie. There were two people in the vehicle when it rolled over.

The driver was able to get out of the vehicle following the crash and was taken to a local hospital, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release said.
The identities of the driver and passenger were not released Saturday.

Detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit, who are investigating the incident, believe alcohol and speed could have led to the fatal crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
