Letter: End racism in schools

By Austin Westwood, VANCOUVER
Published: December 24, 2016, 6:00am

I am a student at Covington Middle School. There’s a problem going around — it’s racism. It’s a big problem and it’s a worldwide thing. It’s going on at school, in the streets, it’s everywhere. Many black people are locked up in jail for no reason. People make fun of other people’s skin. Blacks and others should be treated with respect and should be treated the same as whites. You shouldn’t look at other people differently. It’s just wrong.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
