Volunteer opportunities

Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council.

• Battle Ground HealthCare is looking for volunteer interpreters at its free clinic.

• Daybreak Youth Services seeks volunteer office help with filing, copying and phone calls.

• North County Community Food Bank is in need of van drivers and helpers, and assistants in the warehouse and office.

• Parks Foundation of Clark County is looking for help at its St. Paddy’s for Parks event, the evening of March 11 at Shorty’s Garden and Home in Vancouver.

• Salvation Army is looking for clerical call receivers at its social service office.

• SCORE seeks a seminar coordinator to manage presenters’ and registrants’ arrangements for scheduled business seminars. Basic computer skills are required.

The city of Battle Ground seeks to fill a position on its Planning Commission, a seven-member volunteer board that advises the city council on land-use matters.

Clark County seeks to fill a four-year term on the Clark County Arts Commission by a representative in the arts education profession.

The Arts Commission is made up of 11 volunteers. Each participating city appoints one member and the county manager appoints three members representing the arts, arts education and business communities. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month.

The city of Vancouver seeks to fill one full-term vacancy on the Parking Advisory Committee. Committee members must be either city residents or property owners, business owners, or an officer or partner in a business downtown. The committee meets at 7:30 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month or as scheduled.
