A Vancouver man was sentenced Friday to more than a year in prison for brandishing a revolver and threatening to shoot a man.

Larry J. Arthur, 48, pleaded guilty in Clark County Superior Court to felony harassment-death threats in connection with the Dec. 7 incident. One count of second-degree assault was dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea.

The victim, Jason Jennerjohn, told police that Arthur drove past his house on Northeast 135th Avenue at high speed. Jennerjohn said he saw Arthur park down the street, so he walked to the car to take down his license plate number, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Superior Court.

Arthur confronted Jennerjohn and reportedly said, “Come down here so I can shoot you,” the affidavit said. Arthur then pulled out a revolver and spun the chamber. Jennerjohn told police he didn’t come any closer and instead yelled out the license plate number to his mother, court records said.

Arthur then fired three shots into the air and said, “The next two are going to be in your head,” court documents show. Jennerjohn said he and two other witnesses ran inside and called 911.

During his hearing, Arthur’s defense attorney Jeff Barrar said his client, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, will need to work on his sobriety. Arthur reportedly has no felony criminal history.

Judge Robert Lewis agreed to follow the attorneys’ previously agreed-upon sentence of 13 months in prison — a year of that is because of a firearms enhancement. He was given credit for 81 days credit in custody.
