I have received a flier from U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, stating that “we need to make Medicare and Social Security secure for the long haul.”
Readers need to be aware that Herrera Beutler has repeatedly voted in favor of House Republican budgets, which have the effect of converting Medicare to a voucher program, thus abolishing Medicare as we know it.
