The Mason County Coroner’s Office determined that a Vancouver scuba diver who died while diving in the Hood Canal on Sunday drowned, but more tests are needed to determine what led to his drowning.

Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell said Todd Randall MacDonald’s death was an accident.

MacDonald, 56, was diving with a group at a popular diving spot called Octopus Hole, about 10 miles north of Shelton, when he surfaced unconscious.
