Letter: Reasonable to recognize all views

By Ken Kraemer, Vancouver

Of late, there have been a number of letters critical of columnist Thomas Sowell. In my opinion, whenever the progressive/liberal/Democrat/leftists decide someone’s opinions are too truthful or exhibit reasoned thought, that someone must be ridiculed and/or silenced, hence, the effort to remove Sowell from public access.

Sowell exhibits more wisdom in one paragraph than an entire year’s worth of columns from Dana Milbank and Eugene Robinson. I could include Leonard Pitts, but he occasionally gets it right. Seldom are there complaints of columnists’ support of leftist causes because most conservatives realize there needs to be freedom of speech and opinion, and reasoned people need to know what we are dealing with.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
